By using our services or contacting us for a booking, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
This document is provided for transparency and general information. It does not create contractual rights beyond what is required by law or expressly stated in our Terms & Conditions.
2. Scope & acceptance
This policy covers:
- Visitors to FastRide.com and related subpages;
- Passengers and individuals named on bookings (including corporate bookers arranging rides for others);
- Communications via phone (e.g. 8470928887), WhatsApp/SMS, email, and web forms;
- Optional account areas on our platform, if offered from time to time.
It does not govern third-party websites, payment gateways, or driver-partner tools that maintain their own privacy notices; when you leave our site or interact with those services, their policies apply.
3. Legal framework (India)
We design our practices with reference to Indian law relating to electronic records, privacy, and data protection, including (as applicable) the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and evolving requirements such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules issued thereunder. As regulations, guidance, or sector standards evolve, we may update this policy and our internal processes accordingly.
4. Who we are (data controller / operator)
FastRide (also trading as FastRide.com) is generally responsible for decisions about how booking and website related personal data is used. For queries about this policy or your personal data, use the contact and grievance details at the end of this page.
Where we connect you with independent drivers, fleet partners, or marketplace partners, those parties may also process data as separate controllers or processors (for example, to fulfil the ride). We describe typical sharing in the "Sharing & disclosure" section.
5. Categories of personal information
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity & contact: name, email address, phone number(s), relationship to passenger (if booking for someone else).
- Booking & trip: pickup/drop addresses or zones, dates/times, flight or train details where relevant, vehicle category, luggage notes, child seat requests, route preferences, OTPs or reference codes.
- Payment-related: billing preference (cash/UPI/card/corporate), transaction references, masked identifiers from payment partners โ we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: call recordings where legally captured with notice, chat/WhatsApp transcripts, support tickets, feedback, dispute notes.
- Account & preferences: saved addresses, corporate account identifiers, marketing preferences.
- Device & technical: IP address, approximate location from IP, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, timestamps, diagnostic logs.
- In-vehicle / safety: where enabled and permitted: approximate GPS during an active trip, SOS or support interactions, incident reports.
- Marketing & analytics: campaign identifiers, cookie IDs, aggregated usage metrics.
6. Sources of data
We obtain personal data from:
- You (web forms, phone, WhatsApp, email, in-person arrangements);
- Someone booking on your behalf (corporate travel desk, family member);
- Automated technologies on our website (cookies, pixels, similar technologies);
- Partners helping to fulfil or verify a booking (fleet aggregators, airports, hotels โ where applicable);
- Public sources in limited cases (e.g. business contact information for B2B enquiries).
7. Purposes and legal bases for processing
We process personal data to:
- Provide services: confirm rides, assign drivers/vehicles, send trip updates, handle rebooking.
- Payments & accounting: invoice corporates, reconcile with payment providers, detect fraud/abuse.
- Customer support & safety: respond to questions, handle complaints, investigate incidents, cooperate with lawful authority requests.
- Improve & secure: analytics on website/app performance, debugging, quality assurance, training where permitted.
- Legal compliance: tax, regulatory, court orders, law enforcement where required.

Depending on the context, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests (balanced against your rights), legal obligation, or consent where required for specific processing (for example, certain marketing or non-essential cookies).
8. Sensitive or special categories of information
We do not intend to collect health data, biometric data, or government IDs unless you voluntarily provide them for a specific operational reason (for example, age verification for certain services, or documentation required by law for corporate billing). Where such information is provided, we limit access and retention to what is necessary.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may use or share aggregated/de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you.

Our primary processing occurs in India. If we use tools hosted in other countries, we implement appropriate safeguards such as contractual clauses and vendor assessments, consistent with applicable law.
12. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, including:
- Bookings & billing: typically for the life of the customer relationship plus statutory limitation/business record periods;
- Marketing: until you opt out or we retire stale contacts;
- Logs & security: shorter technical retention cycles unless needed for investigations;
- Legal holds: longer where disputes or investigations require.
When retention ends, we delete or irreversibly anonymise data where feasible.
13. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate for our systems, monitoring, and vendor reviews. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong passwords for any account features and notify us promptly of suspected misuse.

15. Marketing communications
You can opt out of promotional emails or SMS by using the unsubscribe link or replying STOP (where supported). Transactional messages (booking confirmations, safety notices) may continue as needed to operate the service.
16. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will take prompt steps to delete it where appropriate.
17. Automated decision-making
We may use automated systems for fraud checks, pricing experiments, dispatch prioritisation, or support triage. Where a decision significantly affects you and applicable law requires, we will provide meaningful information about the logic involved and an opportunity for human review.
